June of 2018 marked a new chapter for Debbie Campbell and Dreanna Smith as they brought not one but two new businesses to the Bonners Ferry community.
Inspired by Debbie’s 30-plus years of owning and operating salons and Dreanna’s passion for working with the public, the women opened Reflections of BodySense, a local source for beauty supplies along with hair and skin care products. Here, clients will be treated to a larger selection of professional products than can't be found anywhere else in the area. In addition, their outstanding customer service is tailored to each and every client for their specific needs.
From shampoo, conditioner, leave-ins, deep conditioning masks, styling aids, frizz control, hair thickening treatments, hair removal products and hot tools (such as curling irons of all sizes, straighteners, blow dryers) to high-quality makeup, nail polish, brushes, combs, lotions and more, they’re Bonners Ferry’s one-stop shop for all of your beauty and hair-care supplies.
Their other business, Reflections of Permanent Cosmetics, offers digital and manual microblading. Commonly known as micropigmentation, digital microblading is when the pigment is tattooed into the skin using a top-of-the-line digital machine, whereas manual microblading is when hair strokes are created naturally and defined using a manual tool.
Dreanna, who has an “artist's eye for detail and OCD for symmetry,” is a highly trained professional who has received extensive training and received her certificate at True Life Canvas in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Training included, but not limited to, working on different machines, learning multiple brow methods (including 3D hair strokes), skin anatomy, color theory and OSHA standards. “This is extremely important because the State of Idaho does not regulate permanent cosmetics—therefore I am not required to operate this way but instead choose to for the safety and protection of my clients, myself and my family,” she says. In addition, Dreanna is proficient in procedure room setup and teardown, sanitation, equipment, proper paperwork and more.
When it comes to what the mother and daughter team find most rewarding about their endeavors, Dreanna says: “(At Reflections of BodySense), it’s having a customer leave with a smile on their face and enthusiastic about finally taking care of their hair. I truly believe that when your hair feels good, you feel good. I like helping my customers feel better about themselves.”
And at Reflections of Permanent Cosmetics, “Seeing the look on the client’s face when she sees her eyebrows for the first time. It seems minuscule to some people, but saving 20 minutes each morning while getting ready because you don’t have to do your eyebrows, it’s a relief!”
Debbie and Dreanna have lived in Bonners Ferry for 13 years and are grateful to not only live in this wonderful community but to be a part of the growing business community, regularly donating to local charities, fundraisers and events throughout the year.
