January 27
Bonners Ferry High School (BFHS) will be competing against Timberlake High School (THS) in Spirit Lake, Idaho, to see who comes out on top when it comes to school spirit! Scheduled for Friday, January 27, the excitement kicks off at 5:30pm.
The competition is composed of two varsity basketball games (JV games before but not included in judgement and points), a lip sync battle, food drive, and cheer and band competitions. School spirit will also be judged based on how each school decorates the gym and each school's overall theme and school/community spirit.
Everyone is invited to attend, but Bonners Ferry High School is only allowed 500 tickets, which are available to purchase at the high school. Those who purchase a ticket will receive a wristband, which will grant access to enter the game (so be sure not to forget it!). Bonners Ferry High School will receive the proceeds from ticket sales when purchased from the high school; if purchased at the door at Timberlake (though there is no guarantee that there will be tickets available at that time), proceeds will go to Timberlake.
Bonners Ferry community members and students can also buy specially designed shirts from the high school for the game, which are priced $15 each. (This counts toward spirit points if they are worn to the games.)
The goal of Backwoods Brawl is to bring the Bonners Ferry community together for school spirit and pride.
The food drive, to benefit the community, is in full swing, and you can drop off donations at Bonners Ferry High School anytime prior to January 25.
As 2023 marks the first year of the event, the community is encouraged to show up and show their support. A lot of work has been put into the event by leadership, BFHS and THS student councils, and BFHS's Robotics Team to make this an incredible, fun and successful event.
Make your calendars, purchase your tickets, and get ready to brawl at the Backwoods Brawl.
