Shop Local for the Holidays

Bonners Ferry Farmers Market’s Holiday Markets return for three days of shopping By Jillian Chandler

For all of those who enjoy shopping at the Bonners Ferry Farmers Market during the summer months, their annual Holiday Market is one you won’t want to miss! You will have three opportunities to shop: 9am to 3pm November 17 and 18, and again December 16. Held at the Boundary County Fair’s Exhibit Hall, find all of your favorite market vendors, plus some new ones that you’ll only find participating at the Holiday Market.

The November markets, held the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, will offer everything from autumn décor for your home to dinner rolls for your Thanksgiving table. Held in conjunction with the Mennonite Bake Sale, the Vintage Sale in the Memorial Hall, and the Catholic Church Holiday Market, be sure to make time to stop by all of the wonderful markets in town that weekend.

“We’re hoping the December 16 market lets you get your last-minute gifts that you may have forgotten and helps you avoid a winter trip out of town,” shares Cassidy Cossairt of the Bonners Ferry Farmers Market.

Each day, there will be more than 30 booths offering handmade art, crafts, jewelry, baked goods and fresh produce. And as they only allow vendors who make their products, everything is unique. “Our people are so creative and make such awesome items that you wouldn’t find elsewhere,” Cassidy notes.

The Bonners Ferry Farmers Market team would like to thank the community for all of their support over the years. For vendors, these markets grant them the opportunity to see people they wouldn’t often see otherwise, catching up with them and showcasing what they make with others. “It’s just a wonderful sense of community at our markets,” Cassidy smiles.

Mark your calendars for November 17 and 18, and December 16, and attend the Holiday Markets, where you can support and shop local. “Local money stays local, and Boundary County is too cool not to support,” Cassidy adds. “We love where we live and the people who make it home.”

Those interested in helping organize the 2023 Holiday Market can join the committee by emailing board@bonnersferryfarmersmarket.org.
